Bal of Dreams
For Christmas 2024, Dior envisions ephemeral pop-up stores inspired by the Château de Versailles, where the Ball of Dreams comes to life as an immersive experience. The collection’s motifs, created by Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, draw on the palace’s heritage: references to the Passemant clock, evocations of the Hall of Mirrors, and emblematic ornamental details. The white and gold palette captures the light and opulent radiance of the royal salons. Each element reinterprets the rituals of the court. Three golden masks embody the olfactory identity of Dior’s iconic fragrances,  J’adore, Miss Dior, and Sauvage. The limited-edition J’adore gift set transforms into a musical box where the masks twirl once the mechanism is activated, recreating the atmosphere of a ball. Wax motifs and golden calligraphy evoke the 18th-century art of letter writing, while dedicated workshops allow clients to personalize their gift boxes. The Gift Finder board game reimagines the Passemant clock and the court’s entertainments: its hands are moved to reveal one’s gift. This project invites each visitor to experience the brilliance of Versailles, elevating the holiday season into a moment of wonder and discovery.
